Mohan Kumar was apprehended during a routine check at R V Nagar near Kodungaiyur following his incoherent replies when police personnel questioned him on suspicion, a city police release here said.
A native of Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh and presently residing here, Kumar was found carrying the pistol and four bullets hidden inside a bag, the release said.
He had bought them from one Jaan Badshah in Mumbai for Rs 30,000 and planned to sell them off here for a higher sum, it said, adding investigations were on about Badshah.
