The accused identified as Anil attempted to kidnap the girl while she was playing outside her uncle's house on Thursday evening, police said, adding that the local residents nabbed the accused and handed him over to police.
Following a complaint by the girl's family, Anil has been arrested and sent to jail today, police said.
