Railway police noticed the youth, identified as Joffy from Koorkanchery in Kerala, moving suspiciously in the Coimbatore Railawy station and conducted a search following which they found gold chains in his bag last evening, police said.
He had confessed to have taken the chains, weighing about 2.195 kgs from a jeweller here to deliver it to a leading jewellery store in Ernakulam in Kerala, they said.
Since Joffy was not carrying any documents or bills to substantiate his claim, he was handed over to the roving squad of the Commercial Tax Office (Enforcement).
