Man held with Rs 20 lakh unaccounted cash in U'khand

A man was held today by an Election Commission team here in Udham Singh Nagar district with unaccounted cash of Rs 20 lakh.
Sanjay Chaudhry was held from near a hotel in Bajpur town in the district when he was carrying the cash with him in a Bolero jeep, in-charge of EC's flying squad S K Mandal said.
When a flying squad of the poll panel intercepted the jeep during regular checking near Amar Palace Hotel, Chaudhry failed to explain the origin of the money and the destination where it was being taken, Mandal said.
The money was immediately seized and the man held for further interrogation, he said.
