Vivek Kumar who was involved in 25 cases of robberies and snatching was caught by a team of Crime Branch near T-Point opposite Shyam Enclave of Vivek Vihar on October 20, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police.
The officer said Kumar was active for the past 10 months.
Vivek and his accomplice Deepak had made an attempt to snatch a woman's chain in Krishna Nagar area but had to flee after a crowd gathered there.
The duo managed to run away but fearing that registration number of their motorcycle might have been noted by someone in the crowd, they lodged a case of bike theft online, through Deepak's father Ram Kumar, to mislead the police.
