A man allegedly kidnapped a five-year old girl here after her parents left her in his care and went to get milk, police said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on Monday evening and based on a complaint from the parents police have registered a case and are searching for the man.
The accused, in his 30s, befriended the girl's parents when they were taking their elder daughter, suffering from fever, to a hospital along with their two other children.
Pretending to help them, the man had carried their daughter and walked along with the parents to some distance when they told him to wait and went to get milk.
However, when they returned, he was missing with the girl, police said.
