daughter injured in a storm that lashed Assam's Jorhat district, official sources said today.
The storm lashed 17 villages bordering Nagaland since midnight last night damaging several houses, uprooting trees and electricity posts, a district administration official said.
At Balijan village under Titabor sub-division, tin roofs of several houses were blown off and people ran out in fear. A tree fell on a 46-year-old man and his 12-year-old daughter, killing him and injuring the girl seriously.
Electric supply, disrupted since last night, was yet to be restored, the sources added.
