Man killed in US capital subway shooting
Transit police responded to a call that a person had entered a subway tunnel just over a mile from the US Capitol building, a Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority spokesman told AFP.
During the incident near the Potomac Avenue subway station yesterday, "an adult male was fatally injured," said the spokesman.
The station was closed and the investigation has been turned over to the Washington police department.
No further information was immediately available.
