Man killed: Mother, sister held

A woman and her daughter were arrested for allegedly beating her son to death over a land dispute in Rabdi village under Harihargunj police station in Palamau district, police today said.
The incident occurred last night when the victim, Gopal Yadav (32) demanded his share of land, which led to an altercation in the family, they said.
Gopal's mother Nagina Devi, sister Poona Devi, younger brother Ashok Yadav and brother-in-law Vinod Yadav allegedly started beating him with sticks and strangulated him to death, police said adding they hid the body in a heap of husk.
The incident came to light when the victim's five-year-old niece narrated the incident to villagers, who informed the police this morning.

The body was recovered and sent for post mortem and police have initiated a search for Ashok and Vinod, who were absconding.
