A man allegedly shot dead his father and nephew in Hoshiarpur's Lamme village today over a land dispute, police said.
The deceased were identified as Sulakhan Singh (84) and his grandson Harmit Singh (37).
The accused, Balvir Singh, got into an argument with his father Sulakhan over a land dispute, following which he shot at the octogenarian and Harmit, police said.
Balvir fired a few shots from his licensed .12 bore rifle, killing his father and nephew on the spot, they said.
Balvir is absconding, the police said, adding that a case had been registered under section 302 (murder) of the IPC and sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.
