Man kills lover, commits suicide in Meerut

A 19-year-old girl was shot to death by her lover who then took his own life in Kalanjari village here, police said today.
The bullet-ridden bodies of Sandeep (25) and Lalitha were found in a field yesterday, an officer from Jani police station said.
The two died on the spot, an officer said, adding that evidence suggests that Sandeep shot Lalitha and then shot himself.
Initial investigation suggests that their families disapproved of their relationship, which might be the reason behind the incident, police said.
A complaint has not yet been registered. Police will proceed with the investigation if a complaint is lodged by their family members, they said.
