Amit, a resident of Rohta village of the district, left home with a country-made pistol with the intention to kill his uncle. When his 20-year-old sister Mona tried to stop him, he shot at her, station in-charge Yaad Ram Singh Yadav said.
"He then went to his uncle Ranveer's house and shot him in the chest at point-blank range," he said.
According to initial investigation, Amit, who was an accused in a bike robbery case, suspected that his uncle was providing information about his criminal activities and therefore, killed him. However, police is yet to ascertain the exact reason for the murder, police said.
A case of murder has been registered against Amit based on the complaint of his brother Devendra, a police official said, adding, a search operation has been initiated for the accused who is absconding.
