A 31-year-old man has been mowed down by a train under the DCM flyover in the city, police said Monday.
The incident took place Sunday night in the Udhyog Nagar police station area and the deceased was identified as Satyanarayan Soni, resident of the Chawani Ramchandrapura area of Kota city, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) Vishnu Kumar said.
Soni was a habitual drinker who may have gone to the railway tracks in an inebriated state and was run over at around 10 pm, he said.
It is also likely to be a case of suicide but no suicide note was found in his possession, the officer further said.
The body was handed over to the family members after postmortem on Monday and an investigation initiated after lodging a case under section 174 of the CrPC, the ASI added.
