The incident took place on the outskirts of Ainapur village last night.
One of the sons of the victim got into an argument with a group of persons when they accused him of blocking the road to their fields by parking his two-wheeler in the way, district superintendent of police B Navin Kumar said.
The men in the group were allegedly drunk.
"The caretaker intervened and the matter was settled. After some time, the people from this group and some others attacked the caretaker and his two sons with sharp weapons and sticks," the DSP said.
"Ten persons have been taken into custody and hunt is on to nab others. Additional force has been deployed in the village and the situation is under control," the SP said.
