Man resists robbery bid, fired at

Two unidentified motorcycle-borne men shot at a 32-year-old man when he resisted their bid to snatch his mobile phone in East Delhi's Khajoori Khas area early morning here.
The bullets hit the victim, Umesh, a vendor, in his abdomen and knee although he is said to be out of danger.
Police said that Umesh, a resident of Sadatpur area of Karawal Nagar, was out on his morning walk when the incident took place near Aadharshila Public School at about 6.30 AM.
"He was near Aadharshila Public School when two men on a motorcycle intercepted and asked him to hand over his mobile phone to them which he refused," a police officer said.

As he held on to the phone, the pillion rider fired at him.
"Following the firing the criminals fled on their bike. A passerby found the victim in a pool of blood and informed the police control room.
"Umesh was rushed to Guru Tegh Bahadur hospital where the bullets were removed and is out of danger now," the police officer added.
An FIR has been registered at Khajuri Khas police station and efforts, including scanning the CCTV footages of nearby areas, are on to identify and nab the culprits, police said.
