Additional sessions judge Kamlesh Dubey had yesterday sentenced Manoj Kumar to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him after holding him guilty of murder of Anjani, a resident of Ghatvariyapur village under Nagar Kotwali police station, on May 18, 2007.
According to prosecution sources, the father of the deceased had lodged a named FIR against four persons saying that Anjani had been taken away by their neighbour Manoj Kumar and his body was found the next day.
While two of the accused have been acquitted for lack of evidence the case against the third was going on in a juvenile court, the sources added.
