Man set afire over property dispute

A 62-year-old man was allegedly set afire today by eight persons following a property dispute at Kanti village under Banda Police Station in the district, police said.
The man, identified as Hardev Singh of Patan village, was taken to district hospital in serious condition but later succumbed to his burn injuries, police said.
Hardev had a property dispute with his in-laws and eight persons belonging to the in-laws side allegedly poured kerosene on him and set him afire, they said.
A case of murder has been registered against eight persons including a woman and the main accused in the case was identified as Madhav Singh, police added.
