Three robbers attacked Vinod Mishra's house in Umari village late last night, they said.
The family woke up and raised an alarm on which robbers opened fire in which Brajesh, son of Mishra was hit, police said.
Brajesh died before he could be provided medical assistance, they said.
Station Officer Deepak Shukla said that a case has been registered against three unidentified suspects.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, he said.
