The village had shot into limelight when 125 dacoits had surrendered before the then Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in 2006 and joined the mainstream.
Manjhi today announced Rs 1.5 lakh and land to each of the 125 surrendered dacoits.
Addressing a function on the occasion, Manjhi said under 'Adarsh Gram Yojna' five villages from each blocks in the state would be adopted for there integrated development.
Under the scheme at this rate 2670 villages in 534 bocks would be adopted.
The villages adopted should have substantial population of SC/ST. Besides making available basic amenities in the adopted villages, the program intends to ensure that benefits of government welfare schemes reach every beneficiary.
