Manmohan lauds Punjabi community's achievements

Lauding the efforts of the Punjabi community in a globalised world, Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said that its members were earning laurels across the world in diverse fields.
Speaking at an event, Singh said, "We live in an increasingly globalised world where barriers like geography and other factors are fast diminishing."
"The Punjabi community in the world has distinguished themselves in the field of science and technology, music, art and culture and moreover as entrepreneurs. This is the way to go forward," Singh said at an awards function organised here by the Global Punjabi Society.
At the event, where Singh was the chief guest, awards were presented to several eminent people of the community for their achievements in different fields.
