Maratha Kranti Morcha (MKM) activists today observed fast in front of the district collector's office here for quota demand.
Activists of the All India Kisan Sabha also supported the agitation.
On the occasion, BJP MLA Rahul Aher, who represents Chandvad-Deola constituency, handed over his 'resignation letter' to the MKM activist for the reservation cause.
"Please treat this letter as my resignation. Whenever required, the Maratha community members could hand it over to Assembly Speaker," he stated.
A bandh was observed in Manmad and Yeola towns in the district.
The Maratha community has been demanding reservation in government jobs and education under the OBC category.
