He was speaking as a chief guest at the Marathwada Mukti Sangramdin function organised here yesterday where 11 prominent personalities from various fields were honoured.
Referring to the demand of construction of Marathwada Bhavan in Mumbai region, where youths from Marathwada can come and stay for seeking jobs and education in Mumbai and Thane, Desai said that nothing should come handy and that they must work hard to achieve their goals.
"They must slog, then only they will realise the importance of going out and working. Let them get into the mainstream and struggle, then only they should be rendered support," he said.
Those felicitated were All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation, Mumbai Region Chairman Nitin Kadam, medicos Dr Sahu Rasal, Dr Madhukar Lahankar, women entrepreneur Sushila Tekale and Kavita Deshpande, senior journalist Ravi Kiran Deshmukh.
