In a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Home Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said there have been 228 and 221 ceasefire violations along the LoC and International Border respectively in 2016.
The number of army men killed went up to 8 in 2016 whereas the figure stood at 6 in 2015 and the number of causalities for BSF personnel last year was five which stood at four in 2015.
The number of ceasefire violations in 2015 were 152 along the LoC and 253 along the International border.
