The exercise was part of measures to equip better the marine commandos to face challenges on the sea and ensure security across the State's lengthy coastline.
Thirtyfive fishermen of the locality were also trained during the programme to enable them assist the police at times of exigencies.
Tuticorin based Marine Research Institute trained the personnel near the Vaan Island area here.
Additional Director General of Police (CSG), C Sylendra Babu presided and took part in the exercise.
The functioning of the coastal village monitoring committees under the auspices of the CSG was also reviewed.
