Cash-strapped Kingfisher Airline's market share also dropped drastically to the last spot among all the domestic carriers, according to the April air traffic data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The data showed Jet Airways and its subsidiary JetLite jointly cornered 28.2 per cent of the market share, followed by no-frill airlines IndiGo with 23.8 per cent and SpiceJet at 17.7.
Air India ranked fourth with a share of 17.6 per cent, followed by GoAir with 7.3 per cent and Kingfisher registering only 5.4 per cent of the total market share.
Air India had the highest percentage of flight cancellation at 5.2 per cent among all the domestic carriers in April when it was not facing any labour issue.
Kingfisher followed the national carrier in flight cancellations as 3.3 per cent of its flights were cancelled.
Air India's passenger load factor, or average percentage of passengers carried on each flight, was the worst at 70.5 per cent, while IndiGo's was the best with 82 per cent.
The national carrier also registered the worst on-time performance out of all the six scheduled operators with less than 80 per cent.
In terms of the number of complaints received by DGCA, the largest numbers were against GoAir, followed by IndiGo.
The figures showed there was a 7.15 per cent growth in passenger traffic between January and April, with all domestic airlines carrying around 203.6 lakh passengers, compared with 190.02 lakh during the corresponding period last year.
On month-on-month basis, the passengers carried grew by 8.99 per cent at 50.91 lakh from 46.71 lakh.
