"With technology and digital space changing almost every aspect of our world, it could not be a better time to expand to one of the most diverse and unique areas of the world, India," Mashable founder and CEO Pete Cashmore said in a statement.
The addition of Mashable India continues the company's global expansion, which has seen the launch of dedicated UK, Australia and Asia editions over the past year.
Founded in 2005, Mashable is headquartered in New York with offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles and London. On the other hand, India.Com Web Portal is a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation (PMC) and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, with diverse India-focused content.
Mashable India has a dedicated editorial team based in Mumbai and New Delhi for localised content to serve Indian audiences. It will also leverage the audience reach of India.Com network properties.
