The film is set to star Paul Rudd in the title role, along with Corey Stoll, Patrick Wilson and Evangeline Lilly, reported Deadline.
Gerald recently starred in the Marvel one-shot All Hail the King, where he played a character called White Power Dave.
It is unclear if he will be reprising that role in Ant-Man, or playing an entirely new character.
Marvel has been relatively consistent with universe tie-ins for all of its properties, with recent release 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' connecting to the current season of Agents of SHIELD.
