The 44-year-old 'Sahara' actor said he felt a little starstruck by the revered 'Goodfellas' filmmaker, but he was immediately put at ease by the Hollywood veteran's easy-going nature and sense of humour, reported MTV online.
"I studied Martin Scorsese in film school in 1992, at the University of Texas. All of the sudden, a year and a half ago or two years ago, I'm going to meet Martin Scorsese at this apartment in New York," McConaughey said.
"I was just nervous to meet an icon like that. And the first thing I got from him was, 'This guy loves funny.' It occurred to me that most of the people who are great at what they do, they love funny," he added.
