MCL's mine model at "Make in Odisha" Conclave pulls huge crowd

Working model of open cast coal mine displayed by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) at the exhibition attracted huge crowds at Make in Odisha Conclave at Janata Maidan here.
Company's exhibit containing working model open cast coal mine displayed mining machinery like dragline, dozer, driller, shovels and surface miner, a company release said.
All these highlight the environment-friendly mechenised mining practices in MCL, which is the highest coal supplier in the country.
While Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had inaugurated the three-day Make In Odisha Conclave exhibition on November 30, MCL's CMD A K Jha opened for visitors' viewing the company's stall at the expo.
People in large numbers, especially students from technical institutes, were thronging MCL pavilion and capturing the mining equipment in their mobile phones.
It is the biggest exhibition aimed at attracting enterprises towards Make in Odisha.
This flagship subsidiary company of 'Maharatna' Coal India Limited is a top contributor for socio-economic development of Odisha, with huge plans of investing over Rs 20,000 crore in coal mining and infrastructure development in the state, the release said.
MCL was the highest investor under CSR in Odisha with expenditure of Rs 184 crore during the financial year 2015-16, it added.
