Medical official trapped for accepting bribe from pilgrim

A Medical Superintendent (Class I) officer attached to rural hospital in Hingana, near here was caught red handed for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 500 from an Amarnath pilgrim, for issuing him a fitness certificate today.
According to an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) release issued here today, one Prashant Jiwne of Hingana approached Nandkumar Krishnaji Pathade (57) for a mandatory fitness certificate to go on Amarnath Yatra.
However, the accused demanded Rs 600, but agreed to accept Rs 500, after which he was trapped by the Nagpur unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, have been registered against Pathade, the ACB release said.
