Medium sugar gains on fresh demand

Medium sugar prices gained further at the Vashi wholesale market here today on fresh demand from stockists and retailers amid restricted supplies.
However, small sugar dropped further following reduced demand from stockists and bulk consumer.
Medium sugar (M-30) climbed Rs 22/10 per quintal to Rs 2,302/2,572 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,280/2,562.
However, small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 10/9 per quintal to Rs 2,152/2,302 as against Rs 2,162/2,311, previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,302/2,572 (Rs 2,280/2,562).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,152/2,302 (Rs 2,162/2,311).
