Medium sugar gains on sustained demand

Medium sugar prices gained modestly at the Vashi wholesale market here today on mild demand from stockist and bulk consumer amid restricted supplies.
Meanwhile, small sugar held steady due to lack of any worthwhile buying activity.
Medium sugar (S-30) moved up by Rs 6/4 per quintal to Rs 2,822/2,946 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,816/2,942.
However, small sugar (S-30) was quoted stable at Rs 2,712/2,811.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,712/2,811 (Rs 2,712/2,811).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,822/2,946 (Rs 2,816/2,942.
