Medium sugar spurts on buoyant demand
On the other hand, small sugar variety witnessed a mixed pattern of trading owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling.
Medium sugar (M-30) went up by Rs 21/30 per quintal to Rs 3,221/3,331 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 3,200/3,301.
Small sugar (S-30), however were quoted at Rs 3,160/3,221 per quintal, as compared to Rs 3,102/3,235 previously.
The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,221/3,331 (Rs 3,200/3,301).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,160/3,221 (Rs 3,102/3,235).
