Tribal leader and Dausa MP Kirori Lal Meena, who joined National Peoples' Party after walking out of BJP on a defiant note in 2008, today said he will launch public drives ahead of the Assembly polls due later this year.
Meena, who has been aggressively campaigning for his party and has so far held rallies in as many as 86 constituencies, hoped his party will be able to grab at least 35 seats in the elections.
"NPP will take out its Yatra and the plan is being finalised. We will try to touch the common man living in the villages," Meena, an independent MP, said.
Meena said through his campaigns, he will raise issues faced by Muslims, and highlight incidents like the 2011 Gopalgarh firing and the killing of a policeman belonging to the Minority community in Surwal town the same year.
Meena, a tribal leader, left BJP on a rebellious note before the 2008 Assembly elections, and is seen as staunch opponent of Vasundhara Raje in state's political circle.
