David Ready and Michael Finfer are overseeing the project, with Peter Chernin producing. Together they have worked on several high-profile sci-fi action movies, including "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" and its sequel. Mike Ireland and Ryan Horrigan will produce for Fox.
Mega Man, originally called Rock Man in Japan, first appeared in 1987 as the main character for his own video game on the original Nintendo Entertainment System. The game has spawned a number of sequels and spin-off series.
Up to battle with the evil robot, Mega Man was more than ready as he can mimic his enemies' weapons. It's an advantage since certain enemies are vulnerable to other enemies' weapons.
