Mentha oil prices fell by 0.88 per cent to Rs 769 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid subdued spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January fell by Rs 6.90, or 0.88 per cent, to Rs 769 per kg with a business volume of 520 lots.

The February contract drifted by Rs 5.50, or 0.70 per cent, to Rs 779.70 per kg with a business turnover of 188 lots.

The fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and weak trend at spot market on subdued demand.
