Mentha oil prices dropped by 1.16 per cent to Rs 1,403.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid easing demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April fell by Rs 16.50, or 1.16 per cent, to Rs 1,403.10 per kg in a business turnover of 56 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in May eased by Rs 7.80, or 0.61 per cent, to Rs 1,276.20 per kg in 6 lots.
Analysts said, besides profit-booking by participants, decline in demand from consuming industries in spot market against ample stocks position, mainly put pressure on the mentha oil prices at futures trade.
