Mentha oil futures rise 0.12 pc on uptick in demand

Mentha oil prices edged higher by 0.12 per cent to Rs 1,008 per kg in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions amid pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha for delivery in December inched up by Rs 1.20, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 1,008 per kg in a business turnover of 81 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in January edged up by 70 paise, or 0.07 per cent to Rs 1,015.10 per kg in 13 lots.
Analysts said besides pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the physical market, tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts mainly attributed the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
