Mercury shot up by one to 3 degrees Celsius at most places in the state as the hill station of Mount Abu recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius and Tonk in the plains registered a low of 8.5 degrees Celsius last night, the MeT department said.
Of the 11 trains running late, Jammu Tawai-Ajmer train was delayed by six hours followed by Rishikesh-Sriganganagar train by over five hours, Howrah-Sriganganagar was late by nearly five hours and Howrah-Jodhpur/ Bikaner by over four hours, NWR CPRO Tarun Jain said.
Not only the minimum temperature at various places in the state shot up to two digits and ranged between 10 to 14.5 degrees Celsius, the day temperature ranged between 25 and 31 degrees Celsius in most of the cities, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Barmer, Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Phalodi.
According to MeT forecast, the weather condition is not expected to change in next 24 hours.
