The minimum temperature registered a jump of three notches over yesterday as Delhi experienced a sunny and cheerful day today after emerging from a thick cover of fog in the morning which caused disruptions in flight and rail schedules.
The maximum settled one point above the normal at 20.7 degrees which, however, was slightly lower than the 21.6 degrees recorded yesterday.
The minimum today touched 9.4 degrees, which was two notches above normal and three points higher than yesterday's 6.4 degrees.
But fog in the morning brought visibility down to 50-m at 8:30 A.M., hitting flight and train operations to and from the city.
Ten flights were delayed due to the fog at Delhi airport, an official statement said here while 61 trains were delayed, including the premier Rajdhani trains coming from Patna, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar and Howrah.
Visibility improved as the day progressed -- it was at 1,000-m at 5:30 P.M. -- and humidity levels oscillated between 42 and 97 per cent.
The weatherman has predicted moderate/dense fog in the morning giving way to mainly clear skies during the day. The minimum and maximum is expected to settle at around 8 and 21 degrees, respectively.
