Metal prices firm up on heavy demand despite lower global cues

Select base metals firmed up at the non-ferrous metals market here today due to stockists buying and heavy demand from industrial users despite lower global cues.
While, select copper and aluminium utensils slumped owing to lower offtake from consumer industries.
Tin prices surged by Rs 150 per kg to Rs 1,680 from Last Saturday's close Rs 1,530 and nickel firmed up by Rs 125 per kg to Rs 930 as against Rs 805 previously.
Zinc climbed by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 230 as compared Rs 210 and copper utensils rose by Rs 17 per kg to Rs 350 from Rs 333 previously.

Brass sheet cuttings advanced by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 300 as compared Rs 285 and copper sheet cuttings increase by Rs 14 per kg to Rs 365 from Rs 351 last week.
Brass utensils scrap gained by Rs 11 per kg to Rs 285 from Rs 274 and lead prices go up by Rs 7 per kg to Rs 152 as against last weekends close Rs 145.

However, copper scrap heavy plunged by Rs 27 per kg to Rs 378 as compared Rs 405.
Copper cable scrap, copper armiture and copper wire bar dipped by Rs 25 per kg each to Rs 385, Rs 370 and Rs 413 as against Rs 410, Rs 395 and Rs 438 respectively.

Aluminium utensils softened by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 116 from Rs 119 previously.
