The accident took place near Ganeshgadh village on Bhavnagar-Ahmedabad highway following which the unidentified bus driver fled from the spot, sub-inspector R L Dave of Velavadar police said.
Pankajsinh Jadeja (45), who was driving the car, was a government official and serving as a deputy collector at Ahmedabad Metro project, said Dave.
"Jadeja died on the spot due to head-on collision with the bus. His wife Rajshree (40), daughter Richita (16) and son Harshraj (14) died during treatment at a nearby hospital. They were heading for Bhavnagar from Ahmedabad to attend a wedding," he said.
