Metro Shoes to open exclusive outlets for Crocs

Metro Shoes today entered into a retail partnership with global casual footwear brand Crocs for selling the latter's products in India with plans to open 100 exclusive outlets in three years.
As per the agreement, Metro Shoes will open 30 Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs) of Crocs footwear across the country in the first year, the company said in a statement.
"Metro Shoes will be investing around Rs 40 crore and is expecting sales target of over Rs 100 crore during this period," it added.
Commenting on the partnership, Metro Shoes Chairman Rafique Malik said: "India offers significant untapped potential for the Crocs brand, and we see a huge opportunity for growth."
In the first year, Metro Shoes will be open 30 Crocs stores and will take the tally to 100 in next three years.
Metro Shoes has 300 showrooms of its own across India.
"Our partnership with Metro Shoes lets us expand our footprint, while helping people of all ages celebrate and 'Find Your Fun' in every pair of Crocs shoes," Crocs Inc President Andrew Rees said.
Crocs India Managing Director Nissan Joseph said the partnership with Metro Shoes gives Crocs more opportunities to meet consumer needs with a wide variety of fun, comfortable shoes for the entire family.
Already, the first Crocs EBO has started operating in Lucknow and two more will be opening shortly in Thane and Chandigarh, the company added.
