Militants attack army patrol, civilian hurt in retaliatory

A civilian was injured tonight when army troops opened fire while retaliating to an attack by militants in south Kashmir's Shopian district, a police official said.
A patrolling party of 44 Rashtriya Rifles was fired upon by militants at Manloo in Shopian tonight, the official said.
He said the forces suffered no casualties and the militants were forced to flee after the troops retaliated.
However, a civilian Shabir Ahmad Teli, resident of Zawoora area of the district, was injured in the retaliatory fire, the official said.
Teli has been referred to a hospital in Srinagar, he said.
