Minimum temperatures drop at few places in Punjab, Haryana

Adampur was the coldest place in Punjab at 4 degrees Celsius on Sunday as the minimum temperature dropped below normal at a few places in the state and in Haryana.

Narnaul was the coldest in Haryana at a low of 5.5 degrees Celsius, a Meteorological Department official said here.

Among other places in Punjab, Bathinda (6.4 deg C), Halwara (6.4 deg C) and Faridkot (6 deg C) also experienced a cold night.

The minimum temperatures hovered close to normal limits at Amritsar (7.7 deg C), Ludhiana (7.8 deg C), Patiala (8.5 deg C), Gurdaspur (8 deg C) and Pathankot (9.3 deg C).

In Haryana, Hisar (6.1 deg C), Karnal (6.8 deg C), Rohtak (7 deg C) and Sirsa (7.4 deg C) experienced a cold night.

The minimum temperatures in Punjab and Haryana had been hovering above normal at most places during past few days.

Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, registered an above normal minimum temperature at 10.1 degrees Celsius.
