Minimum temperatures rise in Punjab, Haryana

The minimum temperatures rose in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh with the mercury settling up to two degrees Celsius above normal at several parts of the region.
At most of the places the minimum temperatures were up to two degrees Celsius in the region, the MeT Office said here today.
However, the mercury settled two degrees Celsius below normal at 8.5 deg C in Karnal in Haryana.
Ludhiana and Karnal had foggy morning, while mist prevailed at Ambala and Hisar.
Amritsar settled at a low of 9.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, while the minimum temperature at Narnaul and Bhiwani was an identical 10.5 degrees Celsius.
Hisar had a low of 10.6 degrees Celsius followed by 11.9 degrees Celsius at Ludhiana, two notches above normal, 12.4 degrees Celsius at Patiala, 13 degrees Celsius at Ambala and 13.1 degrees Celsius at Chandigarh, two notches above normal.
The MeT has forecast mainly clear sky with further rise in minimum and maximum temperatures in the region during the next 24 hours.
