AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh told reporters that special category status would be conferred on Seemandhra for five years and tax incentives would continue for a period of ten years.
"A committee has been given the task of locating the capital and high court, which will be done in the few months," he said, while adding that they were awaiting the notification from the President and the day of appointment for the new state.
However, Singh refused to comment about the successor of Kiran Kumar Reddy, who resigned protesting against division of Andhra Pradesh.
"You will come to know," he said, replying to a question on who would head the government in Andhra Pradesh.
