The deceased identified as Manoj Kumar, a student of Class VI, had gone to see a play with his friends last evening but did not return home till late in the night, police said.
During search by family and villagers, his body was found with throat slit and hands chopped this morning, police said.
A case has been registered against unknown persons and the body sent for post mortem examination, police said, adding that investigations were on.
