The girl, identified as Muskan, had gone missing late last evening when she was playing outside her house, Forest official Ankesh Srivastava said.
Villagers this morning found her head and clothes in the forest area, he said.
Some locals claimed that yesterday they saw a hyena near the village and it is suspected the girl was killed by the animal, he said.
Hyena attacks had taken place on several occasions earlier in the village.
UP Minister of State for Zoological garden, S P Yadav said that compensation of Rs five lakh would be given to victim's family members after a probe.
