According to Superintendent of Police, Tehsildar Singh the postmortem report has confirmed that the 15-year-old girl, was not raped and strangulated but died on hanging.
The girl had committed suicide and reasons for the same were being probed, he said.
The body of the girl, missing from her house in Benipur village since June 2 night was found hanging from a tree in Misrikh area on June 3.
A complaint in this connection was registered by the victim's father against six people including his neighbour and his three sons, following which an FIR was lodged against them under IPC 302 (murder).
